Since graduating with a BA (Canterbury) and a Bachelor of Laws (Victoria), Marcella has held a variety of legal and business positions. Her focus on employment law started when she was an Associate at Glaister Ennor in Auckland, and part of its Litigation team. In 2000 she commenced an Employment Law Consulting role at Ernst & Young, where she developed a strong client base which she still represents today as an Employment Consultant.
Marcella's relationship with SBM commenced soon after the partnership was formed. Her background and experience in legal, business and consulting sectors gives her a broad, pragmatic approach to problem solving and risk management. She has provided advice to a wide range of clients on a variety of issues and has represented clients in negotiations, mediations and proceedings. She implements systems and procedures to assist management to effectively deal with employment relationships, trains managers in a wide aspect of employment law and staff management, and undertakes independent investigations relating to allegations such as harassment or bullying.
